Cisco strengthens Saudi Arabia presence with digital initiatives

Strategic investments aim to boost AI talent development, digital transformation, and local manufacturing in the country.

Cisco, a global leader in networking, cybersecurity, and IT solutions, announced a series of initiatives to grow its presence in Saudi Arabia. The plans include the launch of advanced cloud data centers, AI talent development, and phased local manufacturing operations. The announcement was made at LEAP 2025, with Cisco emphasizing its support for the Kingdom’s ambitious digitization goals under Vision 2030.

At the event, Vice Minister of Communications and IT Haytham Alohali highlighted that the partnership will enhance Saudi Arabia’s global competitiveness by promoting AI and cloud adoption. Cisco’s Chair and CEO, Chuck Robbins, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation and strengthening the local economy.

Cisco’s newly operational cloud data centers deliver advanced services for cloud security solutions and the Webex collaboration platform. These centers enhance data protection, AI-powered collaboration tools, and industry-leading encryption standards, offering users secure, real-time performance.

The company also aims to boost AI skills through its Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program, aligning with the Saudi Research and Development National Strategy. In partnership with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Cisco will offer advanced certifications to help build a highly skilled, AI-ready local workforce.

By 2025, Cisco plans to develop a local manufacturing base in Riyadh, focusing on wireless technology production to meet local demand.
