Belarus and Ethiopia plan to enhance bilateral ties
Belarus and Ethiopia are preparing to sign a roadmap for enhanced bilateral cooperation, following talks between their foreign ministers in Addis Ababa. The document is expected to be finalized and signed at the leadership level of both countries.
Key areas of focus include boosting trade and economic collaboration, particularly through the formation of an Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. Modernizing Ethiopia’s agricultural sector using Belarusian technology and equipment—such as setting up assembly plants and training programs—was highlighted as a major opportunity for partnership.
Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov extended an invitation to Ethiopian businesses to participate in Belarusian exhibitions, including "Belagro-2025". Additionally, the two nations agreed to organize cultural, educational, and sports events under the banner of "Days of Belarusian Culture" in Ethiopia.
