SIAC and GCAI forge arbitration partnership

The collaboration will facilitate workshops, rule-specific training, and mutual event support to advance international arbitration practices.

The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the General Counsels’ Association of India (GCAI) to encourage international arbitration as a key method for resolving cross-border disputes.

The MOU establishes a framework for SIAC and GCAI to collaborate on initiatives such as hosting arbitration-related conferences, seminars, and workshops in India and Singapore. Additionally, the two organizations will develop training programs on international arbitration and SIAC Rules for GCAI members, while also promoting each other’s arbitration events in both countries.

Mr. CV Raghu, GCAI Founder Member and President, stated that the partnership will strengthen ties between the two institutions and enhance arbitration training opportunities for GCAI members.

Ms. Lucy Reed, President of the SIAC Court of Arbitration, emphasized that the MOU will help tailor SIAC’s offerings to Indian businesses while expanding Indian in-house lawyers’ expertise in international arbitration.
