Signed pacts focus on industrial cooperation and smoother trade flows between the two economies.

China and Sri Lanka have signed two Memoranda of Understanding to enhance economic and trade relations. The deals were finalized during the China-Sri Lanka Joint Trade and Economic Commission meeting in Colombo, where China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met with Sri Lankan Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, and Co-operative Development Wasantha Samarasinghe.

The agreements include the formation of a trade facilitation working group and a commitment to industrial and supply chain cooperation.
